The Cascade Pass trail is one of the most popular trails in the North Cascades National Park. Those hikers with a bit more energy can continue their hike up Sahale Arm to the base of Sahale Glacier. The views are absolutely stunning at the trailhead and once again when you emerge from the forested switchbacks that dominate the lower section of the trail.* Ladder Creek Falls - by Hunda. The water-cut bedrock streambed of Ladder Creek tumbles down the hillside behind the Gorge Powerhouse at Newhalem, WA in the North Cascades. A short trail meandering thru a woodland garden borders the stream, which is lit at night.* Skagit Hillsdie - by Hunda. In autumn, the deciduous trees turn shades of golden and red, but the higher hillsides remain green. This evergreen enveloped rock outcropping stands as a guardian above the Skagit River lowland west of Marblemount.* Snow on Sauk - by Hunda. West of Rockport on the visible ramparts above the north shore of the Skagit stands Sauk Mountain. A great hike in the summer, from it's summit at the site of an old fire tower, one can view most of the North Cascades well into Canada.*
