Rafting & Lodging
Packages
In Washington State, river rafting takes place primarily in the
Cascade Mountains. This usually entails a one to two hour drive from the
metropolitan areas of Seattle and Spokane. As a result, our
customers often spend the night in a community located near the
river they are rafting. For your convenience we provided a
rafting/hotel package designed to save you time and money. No need
to search for lodging! Both your rafting and room rates are
discounted.
Great rafting for two including:
- A riverside lunch
All of Alpine's full day rafting tours include a fresh, tasty
riverside lunch, most commonly: a pita style sandwich with fresh
vegetables, fruit, chips and salsa, juice, water, (hot beverages
if it's cold), and a dessert.
- Breakfast at The Eatery
Continental breakfast, with several selections available.
- One night's stay in a room for two (one bed)
The lodging packages are designed for couples: a one night's stay
in a room for two that has one bed. Pricing refers to
"per person, double occupancy." This means the package price
should be multiplied by two in order to determine the full price
before tax. State sales tax and lodging taxes apply and must be
added to the subtotal price. If
there are more than two people in your party, be sure to make that
clear so we can plan and charge
accordingly. Variations may be made to our packages.
Rafting on the Skagit River
Ambling emerald currents sprinkled with rapids converge with lush
ancient forests on our White Water: Upper Skagit River
outing. Families appreciate this easy riding three hours and 10
miles of Class II/III water offering astounding views. July thru
August.
Witness the circle of life first hand on our
Family Float: Skagit River Bald Eagle & Salmon Float. Spawning salmon create the incentive
for hundreds of bald eagles from Canada and Alaska to converge on
the valley. Marvel at these natural wonders as you travel this10
mile stretch. 4 hours Class I. December thru February.
White Water
Upper Skagit River
The Upper Skagit river is located in the North Cascades National
Park near Ross Lake. Another beautiful and moderate whitewater trip
for the family, this river is great for the summer. The Skagit is
the 2nd longest river in the state and is set in a beautiful
mountain valley. The river is rated as class II-III river and is
good for ages 8 and over. A moderate amount of whitewater is
enhanced by the overwhelming presence of nature. The mountain
scenery and abundant waterfowl make this a nature lovers outing.
Family Float
Skagit River Bald Eagle and Salmon
Floats
Welcome to Alpine Adventures' Wild & Scenic River's tour of the
protected section of the Skagit River. The river from Marblemount to
Rockport, is managed by a coalition of agencies, including the U.S.
Forest Service, Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife,
Skagit County and the Nature Conservancy. This ten mile tour
includes the Bald Eagle Sanctuary.
The Bald Eagles along the Skagit have migrated from the mountains
and coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest. These birds congregate
near an abundance of food - like the dead, spawned-out salmon. The
salmon runs begin earlier in the rivers of Alaska and British
Columbia, so the eagles migrate there first and then move south as
the runs of salmon enter the rivers down here. The largest
concentration of Bald Eagles in North America is in Alaska on the
Chilkat River. Over 750 eagles have been counted there. The Bald
Eagles wintering on the Skagit and nearby Nooksack River comprise
the largest gathering of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states.

Shuttle Service
Please contact us if you require our help in shuttling your vehicles
to/from trailheads and put-in/take-out spots on the river. You
must arrange this in advance. Our shuttle fee, which depends on
the number of people and distance to be traveled, is very reasonable --
talk to Bob at the Resort Office. It usually works this way:
Come to the Office (if it's a river trip, you should already have
dropped off your boat at your put-in point). Our van will follow
you to your take-out point or hike-out point, where your will park your
vehicle (and boat trailer) where it will be waiting for you at the end
of your wilderness trip. We'll then shuttle you to your trip
starting point.
