Welcome to Skagit River Resort...
Yes, it is that time of year when, with
luck and effort, you can spot the "hard to find" feathered
friends. We live in a very special area, and very special birds
call this their winter home. On a clear winter day, plan a trip
to the farm and mountain areas of Snohomish and Skagit
Counties, and spend a winter night in a warm cabin.

Among the birds to watch for on your day trip are: Snowy
Owls around Skagit Flats and Stanwood; Black-bellied plovers,
Bonaparte's gulls, and long-billed dowitchers are spotted at
Hayton Preserve and Fir Island; and a bit North around Bow
would be Eurasian collared doves. Geese and white swans gather
in large numbers in the Skagit Valley fields. And, of course,
the bald eagles that call our part of the world home every
winter.
So, then travel northeast up the Skagit Valley
toward the towns of Rockport and Marblemount to both spend the
night here and view the great American Bald Eagles flying and
roosting along the Skagit River. Their numbers grow to 300 to
500 birds during the months of December through January, and
then taper off in February and March. We'll help you plan a
float trip down the Skagit to get full view of these majestic
birds, and then have a warm cabin for a great nights sleep.
Call the Skagit River Resort (360-873-2250) for Eagle Festival
information, float trip and cabin information, and the on-site
Eatery Restaurant (360-873-2041), for that hot meal. You can
review our Trail Conditions printouts at the Resort Office, or
for the very latest info we suggest you talk to folks at the US
Park Service info office just east of us on Ranger Station Road
in Marblemount.
The fishing is great for those who love to be out along the
water. Remember, the fish in the Skagit and local streams are
very smart, as we send them to school. We are still doing our
Skagit Shuttle Service, call 360-873-2250 and ask for Bob
Brooks. If anyone wants to fly in to the Concrete Airport, we
can shuttle them up to our Resort for a comfortable cabin for a
weekday adventure or a weekend get-a-way. We do hiking
shuttles and for the kayakers and others who get out on the
river we do boat shuttles. You take your boat to your put-in
place, drive your rig to The Eatery and Bob follows you to your
take-out place, you park your rig and Bob shuttles you back to
your boat where you head out on the river. This all for a very
reasonable price.
We are open here at
Clark's Skagit River Resort year round with office hours 9am -
9pm, and The Eatery Restaurant's hours this time of year year
are 7am to 7pm. Do check our frequent tweets (in the Twitter
box at the upper right corner of our website's home page) for
the latest news on what's happening here at the
Resort.

Plan to enjoy one of the
Bullerville Trails on your next visit, whatever the
season. The River
Trailis always popular, leading from the Chapel
down to and along the bank of the Skagit. And the new Upland
Trail, in the forest west and northwest of the
resort's cabins, should be a very nice trail for year-round use
also. It is about a 2.5 miles long, meandering through our
forest, with several connecting loops for people who might want
to make the trek shorter. Regional lowland trails are usually
accessible all or most of the year. Come in to the Resort
Office to check out our wall-sized hike and activity locator
map and check the latest trail conditions. Single-page
individual hike description sheets are also
available.
Be sure and visit our new Friends page which contains links to
lots of images, homepages and blogs on the web, all pertinent
to the North Cascades experience. Check this page out if you
are interested in sharing your trip photos with others, or just
seeing what images other folks have posted for the world to
enjoy. Don't miss the box describing our "Shirt Shot" award
program that could earn you a free night at Skagit River Resort
for sharing your picture of you or a friend wearing one of our
tee shirts in a distant locale.
