Our main Links page allows access to many websites maintained by government agencies, organizations and businesses, all selected because they provide useful information for those who wish to get the most out of their visit to the exciting and beautiful Pacific Northwest mountain region surrounding the Resort. 

We could have expanded that page with the additional links that appear below, but elected to separately provide access to these more informal web pages here.  Here you can browse people's personal expressions and recorded memories of their visits to Skagit River Resort, the Upper Skagit Valley and the North Cascades.  The links on this page will take you to shared photos, weblogs and websites/pages of friends, resort guests and others who are publicly sharing their experiences by creating and maintaining a presence on the worldwide web.

Our hope is that folks who upload pictures illustrating their outdoor adventures, post tales about their latest North Cascades vacation, or make blog comments concerning topics that other travelers to this area would benefit by learning will choose to share here.  Just drop us an email with a link we can insert here, so that this page grows as an engaging resource.  We will also do an occasional internet search and post links to the most valuable stuff we find, including the occasional feature article or review of interest.

Shared Photos

With so many of us capturing images using a digital camera, or getting our film camera shots scanned and digitized to send on to family and friends, there are a batch of free and inexpensive websites that will host your picture collection, so you don't even have to email your pictures to have them appreciated by others.  Here are some images and collections to enjoy ("NoCa" is an abbreviation for North Cascades) --

We like free Flickr (now a part of Yahoo) so much that we have created our own pages there, SRRpix, with three sets of photos: Activities (resort happenings), People (staff, performers & guests), and f/Friends.  This last set is of interest here, because if you don't otherwise have a spot on the web to display your picture(s) taken while staying at the Resort, just email copies to us (put "SRRfoto" in subject line) and we'll post the best of them in this set, crediting you as the photographer.

You can see some of our pictures at Flickr in the "badge" at the lower right on this page, below the navigation column.  If you already have a Flickr page, just "tag" your pictures with "SRR" "SkagitRiverResort" or "ClarksCabins" and we will be sure to find them in our searches there.  Flickr users may join the NorthCascades group pool, which we monitor regularly.
 

SRR 'Shirt Shots' For many years now, folks have been proudly wearing tee-shirts and sweatshirts they got at the Resort.  These shirts bear a bunny emblem and a cute phrase ('Oh No, Another Gray Hare' - 'You're No Bunny 'til Some Bunny Loves You' - 'Kiss My Buns'  - 'The Bunnies Do It All Year, Why Don't You? Enjoy Clark's Skagit River Resort' - 'Everybunny Loves It Hare' - Squeeze Me, I'm Cuddly').  Our guests are a well-traveled lot, so we realize that some of these shirts have probably circled the globe.   Now we have a way for you to show us some of the most interesting places where these unique shirts have journeyed.  It doesn't have to be your own, perhaps you just sighted one on a passing traveler. If you have a Flickr page, just upload your picture showing someone in one of our shirts, and tag it with either "SRRshirt" or "SRRtee" so we can find it in a search.   The most interesting images (usually ones with showing unique activities or recognizable famous places) will be awarded a spot on SRR Shirt Shot's list of Favorites.  Now the best part:  for each picture we select for this Favorites list, we will award a prize of one night's lodging at Skagit River Resort (we'll post a Comment below the image, and will also notify you by email). A Few Details:   Images must be posted on Flickr in order to appear in the Favorites list -- If you don't have a Flickr page just attach a copy of your picture to an email directed to us (put "SRRfoto Shirt Shot" in subject line), and we'll post it in our SRRpix f/Friends set and tag it so it can be considered along with Flickr members images.  We will not accept composited or "photoshopped" submissions, although cropping, straightening and adjusting exposure in a single original image are all OK.   Pictures must show one or more real SRR shirts in a real location.

Each time we change the introductory message on our homepage, we select a Welcome Picture to appear there.  Do you have a great shot of the North Cascades or the Upper Skagit Valley you'd like to share with others on our homepage?  Email us an image file (with "SRRfoto" in subject line) or link where we can download it.  You may also send us a web address which we will link to your byline credit.
