Amy was ably accompanied this time by her old friend Michael Warmuth with his hammered dulcimer. They made a great team and we enjoyed the duets with both instruments. The two drew from a Christmas-themed repertoire, and this early in the month it made for some good cheer and a few sing-alongs enjoyed by all. Particularly appreciated was Amy's take on Kathy Troccoli's "(Take Your Candle and) Go Light Your World", which is good listening in any season.
| Go Light Your World by Kathy Troccoli | |
| There is a
candle in every soul Some brightly burning, Some dark and cold There is a spirit who brings the fire Ignites his candle and makes his home Carry your candle, Run to the darkness Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn Hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle and go light your world Frustrated brothers, see how he's tried to Light his own candle some other way See now our sister, She's been robbed and lied to Still holds a candle without a flame |
So carry your
candle, run to the darkness Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn Hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle and go light your world We are a family whose hearts are blazing We raise our candles and light up the sky Praying to our Father, "In the name of Jesus Make us a beacon in darkest times!" Carry your candle, run to the darkness Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor Hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle and go light your world. |

House Concert:
Amy Hindman

Back for a second concert, Amy and her friends enjoyed her visit so much last time that she wanted to come back to spread some holiday sounds and seasonal cheer.
Amy Hindman of Fir Island east of La Conner says "My music ranges in content from songs about the beauty of the planet to the love of family and friends and our journey together on this earth."
Amy says she's been influenced by songwriter-performers James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, and her own songs that appear on her CD's Beneath the Surface and the recent Beyond the Edge are truly music from her heart. She performs regularly in local venues & festivals and her own songs are always well-received. When asked, she reveals her repertoire to also include lots of old standards. She does a fine job of getting audiences of all ages to sing along with her, and this ability has her much in demand with churches, schools and retirement communities.
* Please note that due to our holiday events schedule, that this one concert is being held on the FIRST Saturday of the month, one week earlier than usual.
7:30pm at Brookhaven Lodge.
